Paul's Hadrian's Wall Run

My Story

In September 2019 I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor at the base of my tongue. The cancer had also spread to my lymphatic system. After undergoing two long surgeries and radiotherapy I completed my treatment at the end of February 2020.

I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment and support that I received from all the clinicians and staff at Leeds General Infirmary and St. James's Hospital Bexley Wing, the home of the Leeds Cancer Centre. I was so impressed that I decided at that time to try to raise some money, to put something back into the 'system' that had helped me so much.

The initial plan was to run the Rome marathon. It was canclled due to covid and in a moment of madness and in keeping with the Roman theme, I made a rash statement that I would run the 82 mile Hadrian's wall path from the east coast to the west coast of England in 3 days - that's more than 3 marthons . Well, once I'd said it, I couldn't back down. Training is underway, hotels and baggage transfers are booked so all I need to do now is raise some money (and keep training).

Any funds that I raise will be made available to further research in the Head and Neck clinic of the Leeds Cancer Centre.

Please give generously. Every donation, no matter how small, will help. THANK YOU, Paul
