My Story

I wanted to take on the challenge of raising £1000 over the next year for Leeds Cares because of the incredible life changing treatment and surgery I received at St James over the past year.

Despite the challenges and pressures of the pandemic on the NHS, I was still able to have a pioneering surgery (twice) which has truly transformed my life by enabling me to eat and enjoy food again, not being dependent on a feeding tube. The difference this has made on my life is indescribable and I can now do my job and all the other things I love to do, feeling so much better in myself.

I  know that the training, equipment and research needed to be able to offer these life saving life changing operations costs a lot of money and I want to fundraise to give back to the trust which has supported me so much and offer hope in new treatments for others too.

So I'll be setting myself some challenges over the year to help reach this target and I am grateful for every penny and pound you donate that goes towards changing peoples lives!

My first challenge is pushing myself 40 miles during lent in my wheelchair!
