My Story

As a family, my wife Rachael, our two beautiful daughters and myself are living with MND following my diagnosis in early 2019. My family and I know how powerful and impactful this new centre would be in supporting and allowing all of the specialist services to be in one purpose built building.

Despite the challenges of a somewhat dysfunctional building and environment within the Seacroft Hospital, the emotional, physical and practical support provided by the MND Team lead by Dr Jung is nothing short of inspiring and incredibly humbling.

We’ve been inspired by Dr Jung and her team, and equally moved by Rob, Lindsey and their family to set ourselves another challenge;

I’m aiming to complete a number of walks in my off road wheelchair across the Yorkshire Moors and Wolds, including parts of our spectacular coastline covering a total of just over 100 miles, accompanied by my family and incredible friends in aid of the Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal.

Thank you,

Ian and Rachael
