My Story
I am very excited to be taking part in the Jail Break 999 Challenge and would appreciate your support in helping me break free from the Civic Hall Council Chamber!
Covid-19 has been a timely reminder of how important the National Health Service is to the nation and to our City. I am therefore proud to be supporting Leeds Hospitals Charity during my Mayoral year.
Leeds Hospitals Charity is the dedicated charity for Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Each year they provide an additional £5 million in funding to support and make life easier for over 20,000 staff working across our local NHS hospitals.
Every day the NHS heroes go above and beyond to make the experience of being in hospital better, for both patients and their anxious families.
Donations to Leeds Hospitals Charity help fund initiatives that make a difference and help staff to provide the best possible care and support to patients and their loved ones. Donations can help to fund:
- Specialist equipment and life-saving research
- Health and wellbeing initiatives
- Educational opportunities for NHS staff
- Improvements to the hospital environment
- Specialist staff
Myself and the Lady Mayoress both suffer with diabetes and my mother’s life was saved while being treated for a severe kidney infection, which she is still receiving dialysis for. I am therefore keen to support the Renal and Diabetes Services during my Mayoral year.
Thank you for your support.
